Currently in Toronto— April 25th, 2022
The weather, currently.

After a stellar Sunday, a cloudy and wet start to the week. A cold front from a very potent storm will begin to slide across southern Ontario in the early hours of Monday.
While this storm will deliver snow, strong winds, and freezing rain in extreme NW ON, for us it will be a rain event. Expect rain showers for tomorrow morning and mild conditions, with the wake-up temperature in the double digits around 12°C.
Unsettled conditions will continue through the afternoon, with even the risk of a thunderstorm and a high of 16°C (perfect conditions, if you put out grass seed or fertilized the lawn over the weekend.)
Monday Night: Partly cloudy and dry with a low of 6°C.

In a personal essay, Currently’s managing editor Zaria Howell writes about how the Earth and our own healing are intrinsically connected. Zaria is an environmental journalist— but focused on wellness and mental health— she is also pursuing a Masters in Social Work at Columbia University.
In the summer of 2021 Zaria spent two months living and working on a farm, the experience changed how she views taking care of her own body and mind.
She writes, “And so, perhaps now more than ever, is time for us, as a collective, to decide what environmental consciousness means and looks like to us, for it’s clear we’ve become disconnected from the life force energy that binds us to our environment.”Read more of Zaria’s essay Nature as Healing online.
