Cloudy with periods of wet snow

The weather, currently.

Another system will move in tomorrow bringing some wet snow to the region - but it will not be a major event. Expect mainly cloudy skies Wednesday morning with wake-up temperature near -2°C, feeling like -6°C with the wind chill. It will remain cloudy with some wet snow developing by late morning, mixing with some showers as our temperature climbs. There is not a lot of moisture working with this system, and we will see drier conditions by late afternoon. The high is 3°C. The wind will be from the NE 20-40km/h.

Wednesday night: cloudy with just a slight risk of freezing drizzle and or wet snow for a brief period in the late evening, other wise dry for the overnight. The low is -1°C.

Happy Meteorological Spring! March 1 marks the day that meteorologists mark the first day of spring, while regular, astronomical spring (which is what’s marked on your calendar!) is on March 20.

According to Currently’s Chief Meteorologist Megan Montero, meteorologists consider March 1 the first day of spring because that’s usually when weather conditions and temperatures become spring-y. It’s also helpful for record-keeping purposes.
