The weather, currently.

Wintry mix and very icy

This storm system is large and complex and it will continue to impact our region tomorrow. The latest analysis is suggesting that the system is tracking a little further south which will mean a burst of heavy snow at times tonight. Expect very slippery and icy conditions for your commute tomorrow. Not just on roadways, but sidewalks and pathways too. There will be some scattered snow mixing with ice pellets tomorrow morning — not widespread early in the day. The wake-up temperature near -4°C feeling like -10°C.

There is so much moisture for this system to work with, prolonging the event. We will see a wintry mix through the afternoon, freezing rain, ice pellets, and snow. Some areas will see 10-15cm, especially in the northern sections of the GTA. The wind will not be as strong NE flow 20-30km/h. Our temperature will slowly rise by late day, approaching the freezing mark by evening However on the backside of this departing system a  flood of very cold air moves in.

Thursday night: mainly cloudy with isolated flurries ending and gradual clearing near dawn, the low -11°C feeling like -19°C with the wind chill.
