The weather, currently.
Wet warm and windy for your Wednesday! However, it will change dramatically by the end of the day. A colorado low will move in bringing rain for your morning commute. Some areas could see up to 10mm. The wake-up temperature will be near double digits. Likely 9 degrees. Periods of rain will continue until around midday before it starts to taper off. There should be a few sunny breaks, but it will be far from a pleasant day. There is a special weather statement in effect due to strong winds. Gusts from 30-70+km/h should be expected. We could see even higher gusts in parts of cottage country. That means power outages are likely.
Behind the front, cold air will push in dropping our temperature through the day. Dress for a windchill of -5 by the time kids head home from school. Recapping we will go from 9 degrees in the morning to the freezing mark in the afternoon feeling even colder with the windchill.
Wednesday night: cloudy with flurries and remaining windy at times, the low -2 but feeling like -9.

Happy giving Tuesday! We are ramping up efforts to finish building Project Mushroom asap — a safe platform to promote connection, mutual aid, and transformative action at a critical moment in history. We need your help.
Several community members have committed to a matching fund of $6,315 that will be used to match dollar-for-dollar all Kickstarter pledges made using this link through December 2nd.
We need your support to help build Project Mushroom into a modern, robust, and easy-to-use platform. We’ve launched a Kickstarter that will directly fund the development of the platform, from building the product to managing the community.
Project Mushroom is designed to reclaim power from the scorched earth policies of billionaires on a warming planet. We are building the world that needs to exist, because there is no time to waste. We intend for Project Mushroom to be a place for creators and their communities to connect and share ideas — kind of like the idea of mutual aid and skills sharing that The Phoenix was founded on, except way more interactive.
Our Kickstarter already has more than 1,000 backers. Our waitlist to join the platform is now more than 30,000 people, from 158 countries. We’ve started to slowly onboard some early adopters and our technical team plans to onboard all of the waitlist before December 15th.
All that becomes easier with your support — whether directly through the Kickstarter, or by spreading the word about Project Mushroom with your community.
It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by the climate emergency. We know climate justice is deeply connected to other forms of social justice, and marginalized people are always the most impacted. Yet misinformation, fear, and harassment distract us from collective action. We believe it’s still possible to help our warming planet and the people on it.
Our mission is to create a place that promotes connection, mutual aid, and transformative action at a critical moment in history — centered in joy, justice, and action. A place where harassment and bigotry cannot thrive.
